Did you know…

In 2016 Bank of America’s inaugural Homebuyers Insights Report found that 75% of first-time buyers plan to bypass the traditional starter-home and instead put their funds toward a forever-home. The US Census Bureau confirms this trend reporting that Americans are moving at historically low rates compared with the mid 1980’s. As homebuyers become more comfortable with the idea of aging-in-place they begin to think about upgrades and improvements when they shop for a home, even if they might not make those changes for 10 years or more. For instance, a zero-step entry offers the same benefits to parents with children in strollers as it does to grandparents using walkers.

Having one step-free entrance can be essential to maintaining quality of life, but can be a costly renovation. Fortunately, there are a wide range of programs available to assist with the cost of improvements and renovations.
